On August 1, 2024, I received one of the worst phone calls that most parents hope they will never receive from their child. “Mom, my house is on fire!” There is nothing you can do when something like this happens. You pray that everyone makes it out okay and be thankful that they have, but when your watch your daughters family lose everything, it is the most helpless feeling ever.
Tianna, Travis, Leo and Lainey Breault have lost everything they own except the clothes on their back. Due to no fault of their own, their home, vehicle and belongs will all be a loss. The fire spread to their house from the garage and the damage is devastating
We have spent the last few days navigating this tragedy and trying to start over. I never would have imagined this process being like this. Imagine leaving home and coming back to NOTHING. It has been a process that has been heartbreaking.
Despite all of this loss, they have been so strong. With two kids under 3, they have managed to remain calm and brave. So strong they pulled off a 3rd birthday party for Leo 48 hours after the fire to keep any normalcy he had.
Leo wants to go home. He doesn’t understand why he can’t. Lainey probably would love to sleep in her own crib. The dogs are misplaced and Tianna and Travis want to be home.
I am incredibly grateful that everyone is okay but so angry that they have to navigate this. I am doing this for them. They won’t ask for help but they need their village right now.
Thank you for any help. I am happy to share sizes and things they need. Right now, we are just focusing on a place for them to stay and their essentials. Insurance will kick in eventually but going through this, we see what a process that can be.
