The Breakfast Place is a local institution: a beloved, independent, women-owned business that has barely survived the pandemic. In normal times it is a popular hangout, homey and friendly, serving great breakfasts and coffee with a smile and a chat. This year, though, has been a nightmare. The owners have gone unpaid, struggled and pivoted, and done everything imaginable to be able to keep their doors open for the past 12 months. With extraordinary determination, they were able to recently celebrate their 10th Anniversary.
Until this week, when the restaurant was broken into, robbed, and vandalized.

Two weeks worth of cash was taken from the register, equipment and paperwork stolen, and the front entryway deliberately trashed. Just as business was getting back to (closer to) normal, they were devastated.
This is the last thing The Breakfast Place needed. Please don't let this be the straw that breaks their back after the worst year ever for independent restaurants. Help them know that the community supports them. The owners need money for repairs, improved security, and to recover lost income. If you value our truly local, unique businesses and the people that run them, please consider donating to their recovery fund.
