Help the Brann family

On Wednesday December 15, 2021 the family was celebrating Karlees 6th birthday. Dad made dinner, we sang happy birthday and had some ice cream cake. Moments later he got up for a drink of water and suddenly got very light headed. Brady and I got him to sit down in a chair and his speech slurred as he fainted. Mom called 911 and at that point Brady and I got him down on the floor and I started to perform CPR until the medics got there. He was in cardiac arrest and we weren’t sure if he was going to make it. He was down for about an hour receiving CPR and several shocks from the AED. Once they were able to get his heart going they took him to the emergency room where he was then transferred to the ICU. He was on a ventilator until Thursday night when they were finally able to take it out as he was trying to breathe on his own. Friday he went to the cath lab and although it came out clear he still needed to have surgery to have a defibrillator placed which was done on Saturday. There will be some financial struggles as his insurance does not cover everything he’s received and will continue to need. He will not be able to work for some time, will not be able to drive for at least 6 months and will need a lot of therapy. His road to recovery will be a long one but we know between family and friends encouragement and help he will be okay. He has apnea and congestive heart failure and will need a c pap machine and will be on a lot of medications that will be costly. We are asking the community to help my parents out with the medical bills. Our dad is very prideful and very strong. It’s a miracle he was able to survive his major heart attack with how long he was down for. We thank every single one of you who has prayed for us, brought goodies, and will continue to thank everyone that can help. Even just sharing his story is helpful.
With lots of love ,
Ashlie, Brady and Chelsie
