You know when you wake up and have to check your phone to make sure that your dream was just a dream and wasn’t actually real? Welcome to every day for Alexa Kasparian. ‘Wake Up You’re Not Dreaming’ is a journey through the inner workings of Alexa’s mind, and her perception of life, reality, dreams, and how they all intertwine. Alexa puts into words the often unspoken, taboo corners of our minds, reassuring you that it's okay to have those...peculiar...thoughts. Through her solo performance, she will take you up, down, and all around the experiences she has had throughout her life while juggling the stability of her mental health and a global pandemic. Follow along as she navigates the harsh realities of adulthood & isolation in a dreamlike state.

Hi! My name is Alexa Kasparian and this is my story. I am a recent graduate of USC's School of Dramatic Arts, and this is my first big girl step toward pursuing my career as an actor.

In my final semester at USC, I took a solo performance course and wrote this play about a snippet of my life. The reason I took this class was to give me the resources and structure to write a show I could take to the Hollywood Fringe Festival. After performing my solo performance for an audience, it only made me more confident to take it to the festival. If you are looking for a laugh, maybe a little cry, lots of affirmation that we all have strange thoughts, and validation that the pandemic was a troubling time for everyone, I invite you to see this performance. Plus, the entire show is me embarrassing myself...who doesn't love that?!

Though I wish I was able to take this show to the festival on my own, it can only be made possible with the support of my loyal fans. I humbly ask for your help to put this performance up and allow me to pursue my career. For every lonely night spent in the pandemic, for every time you threw up from drinking just a liiittttle too much, for every freaky thought you've thunk and never felt you could say out loud, and for every dream you've ever had--real, in pursuit, lucid, whatever--donate.
