Help the Bowles Family in Zadie's Fight
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nicolas Bowles and my wife's name is Skyler. On May 17th, 2024, we went to the hospital for what was supposed to be a normal delivery to welcome our 6th and final child, Zadie, into this world. What started out normal in the delivery room, quickly turned emotional and scary. The attending doctor informed us that during the genetic testing that mom consented to, revealed a positive/abnormal result for trisomy 21 down syndrome. Her OB office had this knowledge and failed to inform either mom or myself so we were left finding out last minute, only moments before our little angel breathed her first breath outside of the womb.
Upon delivery, we were informed that there were some cause for concern stemming from her condition and they immediately took her to the neonatal care unit of our local hospital. Just a day and a half later we were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital of Columbus, Ohio, for a nasal gastric feed tube due to her vomiting during feeds, as well as her stats dropping randomly due to unforeseen issues her care team is trying to uncover. She has undergone several tests, scopes, and scans only to reveal no answers meaning that our stay at Children's hospital may be a lengthy one, which our attending doctor in the unit Zadie is in, has recently told both Mom and myself to prepare for.
Both mom and myself are here every waking minute while trying to balance life with our other little ones and it has become quite stressful managing everything. The older siblings understand to an extent, but the younger ones, not so much. Mom has been off since 2 weeks before Zadie's delivery, and I have been off since May 21st. The boss of the company I am currently employed at has been gracious enough to offer some help but with mom and I both being up here it is becoming quite difficult. Anything that is donated will help more than anyone could fathom and we want everyone to know how appreciative we are, being that we are the type that are used to helping others and always doing our best to never ask for help. So to those who see and read this, and to those who are able, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and caring, we will keep updates posted constantly about our baby and her condition.
Sincerely,
Mr. and Mrs. Bowles
