Larry and Madison have been married for 14 years and have built a loving family with one biological child, age 11, and three adopted children, ages 10, 7, and 3, who are also Larry’s biological grandchildren. The two youngest children were born addicted to drugs, and the middle two spent 10 months in foster care before joining the Boss Family. The youngest was adopted as an infant, and the family had to relocate to Colorado for the adoption, then move back to Indiana after it was finalized. Their journey has been filled with love, sacrifice, and resilience as they worked to provide a safe and stable home for all four children.

This holiday season has brought even more uncertainty. Larry, the father, is on disability and struggles daily with COPD, Emphysema, and Chronic Hypoxic Respiratory Failure, requiring him to be on oxygen. Despite their best efforts, the family has been let down by those they trusted. A close friend’s boyfriend promised to fix Madison’s car, only to leave it abandoned and scavenged for parts, forcing the family to take out a loan for a replacement. Madison herself is working hard toward her future, managing student loans for her degree in Teachers’ Education.

Just as the family was preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving, decorate for Christmas, and finally settle into what they thought would be their forever home, they received devastating news. The house they are renting from a lifelong friend is being sold, and they must move out. This will be their seventh move in five years—a journey that has already cost them so much, both financially and emotionally. They had hoped to stay in this home until it was paid off, but now they are faced with packing up once again and searching for a new place to live. The family needs a four-bedroom rental to stay together and would love to remain in the Plainfield/Avon area, close to the children’s schools and therapy locations. All four children are finally settled and thriving, and the thought of uprooting them again is heartbreaking.

Funds raised will go directly toward moving costs, storage for what they can’t take, a dumpster for unwanted items, and securing a new rental home. As the children’s God Mom, it breaks my heart to see them lose the safety and security they worked so hard to find. While home is about who you have, these children need a place to call home. Please consider any way you might be able to bless this sweet family of six. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, will make a world of difference for them.
