Our small town is rallying around one of our own - our beloved friend Sara, who has been battling a rare and debilitating autoimmune disease since late July. What was initially thought to be a tick bite has turned into a months-long medical nightmare for Sara and her family.

The financial toll has been immense. Sara is unable to work due to her condition. The cost of her medications is extremely high. The family is also struggling with the expenses of frequent long-distance travel for Sara's ongoing care. With an uncertain future, they need our support now more than ever.

Sara has been hospitalized multiple times at both Parkview (UCHealth) in Pueblo and Anschutz Medical Center, over 2 hours away from home. Her devoted husband TJ has missed significant work to be by her side during hospital stays and for the many medical appointments. Their twin boys, Timmy and Tommy, are trying their best to keep up with school while their parents are away.

We're coming together as a community to support the Blackhurst family during this challenging time. Funds raised will help cover:

• Sara's medical bills and costly medications

• Gas and travel expenses for trips to the hospital

• Groceries and meal assistance for Timmy and Tommy

• Household expenses and bills while Sara and TJ are unable to work
