The Bjornson family has always been known for their strength, their love for each other, and their unwavering work ethic. After years of building a life in the Florida Keys—where they ran a successful family-owned boat repair business—they recently made the courageous decision to begin a new chapter in Salisbury, North Carolina.

With their hearts full of hope and their eyes set on a brighter future, they took a leap of faith—one that quickly turned into a life-altering moment.

Hunter Bjornson, a devoted husband, loving father, and incredibly hard-working provider, had just begun working in his new role when tragedy struck. While repairing an electrical issue on a boat over an hour away from home, a single battery spark ignited unsuspected gas fumes within the bilge he was working in, causing a devastating explosion.

Hunter, unavoidably, was engulfed in flames. Miraculously, he was able to roll himself off the boat and run for help at a nearby home. Unfortunately though, Hunter still suffered second and third-degree burns on a significant portion of his body, with both hands receiving the most damage. Hunter is now facing a long, painful road to recovery.

This accident will keep Hunter out of work for the next few months—and with mounting medical expenses, lost income, and the emotional toll of such trauma, the Bjornson family needs our help.
