Help the "Bison-aters" Build a Redbull Soapbox Racer
Donation protected
Hello! We are a team of passionate, engineering college students from La Crescenta who were recently selected to compete in 2025’s LA Red Bull Soapbox Race.
Our challenge is to build a 170 pound, 6 foot long, gravity powered race car from scratch by July 19th. With Redbull, presentation is just as important as speed. Which is why we are modeling our car after a fictional flying bison named “Appa” from “Avatar the Last Airbender”. Once completed, one or two of us will steer it down a precariously windy road filled with obstacles. The race is held in downtown LA and is usually watched by 100,000+ people and by even more online through livestreams and viral clips.
If you are unfamiliar with the event, here is a link to some highlights .
Between construction, decoration, costumes, and transportation, our fees are adding up. While we bring the engineering knowledge, we could use some help on the financial side. Which is why we are reaching out to ask for support.
Whether you are a friend, family, or community member thank you,
