It breaks our hearts as we come to realize that our Nanay (she did not want us to call her Lola because it made her feel old),  Leonora Silvestre Bernabe, is no longer with us and the time has come for us to say goodbye. 

The truth is that Nanay , did not have much... She had a whole lot of love,  but she and Tatay had to sacrifice so much to make sure our family would succeed in Canada while also making sure family back home (in the Philippines) were also taken care of. 

While Nanay did have life insurance, it wasn't much and doesn't cover the cost of the funeral. The burden has now fallen on our parents and we're hoping our community may help.
