Help the Bergman Family Save Their Home
Donation protected
We are The Bergman Family with a desperate plea to save our home from foreclosure, utility disconnection, cancelled insurance policy, food and to pay our second contractor for repairs he made to allow us to come back home after living in a hotel for several months. Let me tell you our story and how we ended up in this predicament. We put every penny into our home to live in the county and excellent school district that could offer our neurodivergent daughter an opportunity to thrive. We love our house, it is our first house and forever home. So many things have happened to us out of our control where we encountered a contractor that committed fraud, identity theft and contractor’s fraud. He took off with $25,000 that was for repairing our water damaged house plus he created thousands of dollars of destruction to our beautiful little home, the insurance wouldn’t do anything despite paying this fraudster directly versus paying our escrow account, we lived months on end in a hotel, my husband lost his job of 9 years and our savings took a big hit until it has been depleted. We found an incredible second contractor that rebuilt one bathroom so we can at least come home for the holidays. Dispute with the former employer led to appealing unemployment benefits which to this day has not been resolved. We paid all we had left of $2700 to our amazing second contractor who funded the bathroom project. Since then without income coming in, we fell behind on the $7,300 that we owe. In desperation Michael accepted a position in March as a caretaker at a significant reduced salary to just bring any income in working 13 hour shifts with a long commute. It has not brought in much income and now we fell behind with our mortgage. To avoid foreclosure proceedings, we need to pay $5691.55 to bring our mortgage current and May mortgage is right around the corner. I have called 14 organizations and churches, our congregation but it is unfortunate every place I called is out of funds. Our power is set to be disconnected by Tuesday morning, our insurance policy cancelled and feeling so desolate. Michael has two very strong positions in his wheelhouse that he applied for yesterday. My small monthly retirement I get is just not enough to sustain a family. It has been putting food on the table. Asking for help is incredibly difficult. I did ask for help during the holidays when our beloved Domino needed emergency life threatening care and here I am again asking for help to save our house. It is one of the most humbling requests to make especially when so many are struggling across the country of devastating destruction from fires to floods to tornadoes and more. From the bottom of my heart, if you can help save our house I will be forever grateful and if we are ever in a position to repay your kindness we will gladly. I much rather help others than having to ask for myself. This is not a hand down but a hand up to uplift us and give us hope so we can persevere. I have attached some of the bills to show full transparency. Thank you ever so. If you cannot make a donation if you can help us spread the word and share this, it would help tremendously.
