Help the Bennett Family Rebuild After Storm

Hi everyone,

I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Tommy and Johna Bennett and their four children who live on Indian Peg Road in Monroe. The Bennetts have been part of the Monroe community for nearly 15 years and purchased their one-of-a-kind octagon home on the mountain in 2020.

On May 5, 2025, a massive oak tree came crashing down onto their home, destroying the children’s bedrooms and shifting the entire structure. Miraculously, all of the children and pets are safe. However, due to the extent of the structural damage and the need for a crane to remove the fallen tree they will likely be displaced while repairs are underway. Removing the tree alone is expected to cause further damage to the house.

We are hoping to raise funds to help cover their insurance deductible and provide immediate support for basic needs while they navigate the recovery process. All four of their children are school-aged, and two attend the local public school. Sadly, most of their belongings were destroyed by the impact and rain.
