I am writing this as a close family friend who knows and loves Arturo and Maria dearly. I have known them for over 20 years and they are one of the most humble and caring family in ever aspect of life. The Becerra family is walking through one of the hardest seasons they’ve faced, and I am humbly asking for support on their behalf.

Arturo and Maria have worked side by side for many years cleaning houses. Their work is physical, honest, and how they have always provided themselves. They always help others without asking anything in return. Recently, their world changed when Arturo was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancerous tumor called sacral chordoma. To treat it, he had to undergo a very extensive and life-altering surgery out of their home city. While the surgery was necessary, it has left him facing a long and challenging recovery, including rehabilitation and significant physical limitations. He is currently unable to work and will need ongoing care and support as he heals.

At the same time, Maria is also recovering from shoulder surgery due to a torn ligament that happened 2 weeks ago, which limits her ability to work and care for Arturo the way she normally would. With both of them healing at the same time, their ability to earn an income has come to a sudden stop.

The funds raised will help cover:

    •    Basic living expenses while they are unable to work

    •    Medical and recovery-related costs

    •    Transportation to appointments and therapy

    •    Daily needs during this long recovery period

This situation has been overwhelming physically, emotionally, and financially. Any support — whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping this family in your prayers — means more than words can express.

Escribo esto como una amiga cercana de la familia que conoce y quiere mucho a Maria y Arturo. Los eh conocido por mas de 20 años y son una de las familias mas humildes y cariñosas en todo aspecto de vida.

Durante muchos años, Maria y Arturo han trabajado juntos limpiando casas. Es un trabajo duro, pero siempre lo han hecho con honestidad, esfuerzo y amor por su familia. Son personas trabajadoras, humildes y generosas, que siempre han estado dispuestas a ayudar a otros sin pedir nada a cambio.

Recientemente, sus vidas cambiaron por completo cuando a Arturo le diagnosticaron un tumor canceroso que es raro y agresivo llamado cordoma sacro. Para poder tratarlo, fue necesaria una cirugía fuera de la ciudad, que fue grande y muy compleja que le salvó la vida. Sin embargo, ahora Arturo enfrenta una recuperación larga y difícil, con limitaciones físicas importantes y meses de rehabilitación. En este momento, él no puede trabajar y necesita cuidado continuo.

Al mismo tiempo, Maria se está recuperando de una cirugía de hombro por un ligamento desgarrado que sucedio hace 2 semanas, lo que limita su capacidad para trabajar y para cuidar físicamente de Arturo como ella normalmente lo haría. Con ambos en recuperación al mismo tiempo, sus ingresos se han detenido por completo.

Los fondos recaudados se utilizarán para:

    •    Gastos básicos del hogar mientras no pueden trabajar

    •    Gastos médicos y relacionados con la recuperación

    •    Transporte a citas médicas y terapias

    •    Necesidades diarias durante este largo proceso de sanación
