Hi, my name is Lizzy Kouandjio, and I’m organizing support on behalf of my dear friends, Jace and Kelly Beals.

On July 11th, 2025 Kelly experienced a life-threatening pregnancy complication called HELLP syndrome, which required an emergency delivery at just 28 weeks. Their daughter, Haven, was born weighing only 2 pounds and is now receiving critical care in the NICU at Yale. She is expected to remain there for the next four months as she grows stronger each day.

The NICU is over an hour from the Beals' home, placing a significant emotional and logistical strain on the entire family. Both Jace and Kelly are doing everything they can to be present for Haven while also caring for their boys at home. Kelly, who is self-employed, has had to step away from work to remain by Haven’s side - something no parent should have to think twice about during such a fragile time.

This fundraiser will help support the Beals family with:

* Travel costs and meals while commuting to and from the hospital

* Childcare and support for Haven’s older brothers at home

* Other unexpected expenses as they navigate this medical crisis
