Honoring the Life of Emma Barnett
On Saturday, October 4th, Scott Barnett, a cherished friend, coworker, and father , suffered the unimaginable loss of his 19-year-old daughter, Emma, in a tragic vehicle accident. Emma had just graduated high school in 2024 and would have celebrated her 20th birthday on November 18th. She was full of life, love, laughter, and kindness, leaving behind a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
While nothing can ever fill the space Emma leaves behind, the family has a heartfelt wish to honor her memory in a way that reflects who she was and what she loved most.
A few years ago, the Barnett family visited Yosemite National Park, a place Emma absolutely adored. There’s a special overlook there , one that took effort and heart to reach, where she felt most at peace. The family hopes to return to that sacred spot to spread some of Emma’s ashes and celebrate her life surrounded by the beauty she loved so much.
This fundraiser will help the Barnetts in several meaningful ways, not only with remaining funeral costs and the creation of Emma’s headstone, but also with making this trip possible as a deeply personal act of remembrance and healing.
There was an earlier GoFundMe created shortly after Emma’s passing that helped cover the initial funeral expenses. However, the family still faces additional costs, and right now, this memorial trip is simply out of reach.
This isn’t just a vacation — it’s an opportunity for a grieving family to find peace, closure, and a way to carry forward Emma’s memory.
If you take a moment to imagine yourself in Scott’s shoes, losing your child so suddenly, you can understand the desire to do something beautiful and lasting in their memory.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help lift some of this financial burden and allow the Barnett family to focus on what truly matters: honoring Emma’s life and spirit.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support for Scott and his family during this heartbreaking time.
