Help the Barlow Family Fight Cancer

Meet Brett.

Brett is our husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is kind, hard-working, funny, and a friend to all.

Brett was diagnosed with Stage 3c colon cancer in September of 2023 and started chemo in November. Although this is a major health challenge all on its own – complicating things further is the fact that he already suffers from Crohn’s Disease. These two issues combined have heavily impacted his cancer treatments and overall recovery through each round of chemo. He’s had numerous surgeries and hospital stays, and, even with insurance, medical bills are mounting. Although he has tried hard to continue working, he has been forced to miss work because of his illness. His employer has been very understanding, and for that, we are very grateful.

Unfortunately, it’s now to a point where we’re not sure how much longer he’ll be able to work. His wife, Deanne, works both for the Davis School District and as a part-time cosmetologist, but it’s not enough to cover all of their expenses. If you know the Barlows, you know we’re doing all we can as his immediate family but this burden is just too heavy to carry on our own – so we’re asking for your help. Our goal is to raise enough money to help cover his expenses so his focus can remain fighting for his health, and his life, and help alleviate some of the stress of bringing in an income, because that is just not possible right now.

Brett has never been the type to ask for help. If he could figure it all out on his own, he would. Yet he’s one of the first to help others in their time of need. He understands this is beyond what he, and we, can do without the help of family, friends, and a community of givers who are willing to rally for a good cause.
