Help The Ballard Collective artists rebuild
Donation protected
On Friday, August 8th, at around 8:45pm, a fire broke out behind The Ballard Collective building in Seattle, WA. First responders arrived quickly, but the flames had already swept through the back of the building, causing significant damage to multiple studios and galleries inside. Thankfully, no one was hurt—but the loss to our creative community is staggering.
Since 2020, The Ballard Collective has been home to working artists, small businesses, and Phase/55 Gallery. It has been a place to build community, collaborate, and showcase the incredible creativity of both local and visiting artists. Over the years, it has hosted exhibitions, classes, and events that have inspired and connected countless people.
Now, fourteen members and artists of the collective are facing devastating losses—studios, tools, supplies, original artworks, and exhibitions that were in progress or about to open are now gone. For some, this fire has erased the very space and resources they depend on to sustain their creative practice and livelihood.
The Ballard Collective and Phase/55 have always been about giving—sharing opportunities, supporting fellow artists, and contributing to the cultural heartbeat of Ballard. Now is the time for our community to come together for them.
If you feel moved to support these artists, makers, and small businesses, any contribution to this fund or sharing this page would mean so much to them. Proceeds from this relief effort will go toward replacing lost equipment and materials, securing temporary workspaces, and helping these artists get back to creating while plans for rebuilding take shape.
Thank you for your generosity, your care, and your belief in the power of art to bring people together.
