Help The Balinskis Reunite For Good

Hello, we are Alexander and Valentyne Balinski!

We are two young queer artists who have been together since June, 2019, and as of May 1st, 2021, we are officially married!

Now that we’ve tied the knot, the next step for us is to finally be able to live together!

Alexander is from Canada and Valentyne is from the US; The ultimate goal being for Valentyne to immigrate to Canada. However, this goal has been much harder to reach since the start of the pandemic, When Canada shut down all of their borders. COVID-19 not only limited our ability to see each other, but also made it far harder to save funds for the sponsorship application.

Despite being apart for over a year, we stayed strong and patient until the border opened again, video calling often and many virtual dates!

Fortunately, we have now been able to see each other twice this year! But! The short visits are making us realize how important it is to us that we finally LIVE together!

“What’s the next step, and how can I help?” You may be asking,

It starts with the application process for a sponsorship! This will allow Valentyne to become a permanent resident in Canada, and eventually attain citizenship!

We are trying to raise $1500 CAD ($1197 USD)

Breakdown of expenses:

Application fee ($1050)

Mandatory biometric check ($85).

Moving expenses and any extra legal fees ($365)*

*We also are trying to afford moving Valentyne closer to the border while the application is being processed (estimated wait time can be over a year), so some funds will be delegated to that!

We are SO close to finally living a life together as a family! (With our two kitty cats!!!)
