Hello everyone, I am writing on behalf of the Baker family who are currently in a season of crisis.

We have had the blessing of knowing Joe and Amanda Baker and most of their 9 children for several years through our home fellowship family.

Right now this family needs the help of their community.

Here is Amanda’s description of their struggle:

“We are seeking help to be able to remediate our home from mold, seek treatment for health problems associated with the mold, and rebuild. We are planning to do most of the work ourselves to save money. We have 9 children, we have been seeking in prayer on what to do, and we all have symptoms to some degree. I and two of our older daughters are struggling with the most severe symptoms. I have chronic gut and fatigue issues that I have been unable to heal from that make eating very challenging.

The one struggling the most is our 2nd daughter, the eldest one living at home with us. Our daughter’s mental health has steadily declined over the last seven years. It reached a tipping point this last year requiring two extensive stays at mental health hospitals. Lyme’s Disease and mold do not mix! This has been completely debilitating for our daughter.

The first step in healing is to remove mold from our home and in us. Our home is extensively full of mold. It’s in our roof, attic, insulation, hvac, walls in our basement, bathrooms, and we have yet to confirm the kitchen. It will need to be gutted and totally redone. Joe has been trying to do most of the work himself but the materials still have much cost.

We have had to throw out all furniture and linens per Dr’s orders and are not able to live in our home. And medical bills in the past year have drained us empty. We have no more to give and yet we need so much to move forward.

Anything you can give to help us heal would be a huge blessing.”

In response to my offer, Joe and Amanda have agreed to let me set up this page on their behalf during this time of need. Joe works hard for his family, and Amanda homeschools the children, and we know them well enough to know they both seek to learn everyday more and more of what it means to love YHWH and love Others.

The actual sum total of the itemized list they gave us of the amount they really could use help with to gut and renovate their home and all of the medical costs and associated costs for storage, etc, is actually higher than what we are asking here. But they are working hard to cover as many of their own costs as possible as well.

Currently they are hoping for the ability to live in a mold free home which will make it possible for the necessary physical, mental, and emotional healing to transpire. The Baker family is extremely grateful for any support you are able to offer including prayers for healing, and sharing this page far and wide.

We hope and pray that our community will rise up and show the Bakers what it means to be a Fountain of Blessing to others.
