Our dear friends, Katie and Tim and their little girls Emmie (5) and Abbie (4), could really use some help during a time of medical crisis.
In short, Katie was experiencing medical issues for months while doctors tried to get to the root of the problem. This escalated and without notice, she was rushed for an emergency hysterctomy at the beginning of December. Post-surgery it became very clear that something had gone wrong.
After another exploratory surgery, it was discovered that her Bladder and Ureter were damaged during the hysterectomy. This damage is so severe that she has to have another major surgery to repair the the punctured ureter. The recovery time from this surgery is estimated at a minimum of 8-10 weeks. She is in chronic pain and is unable to be active due to the severity of the pain and the medications used to try and provide some relief.
Katie has not been able to go to work since December as she has been on bed rest and in immense pain. In addition, her husband Tim has missed a fair amount work in order to take her to/from doctor's appointments, care for her, and care for their 2 young girls.
The medical bills are already piling up. Suddenly having their two-income household reduced to just one-income is causing tremendous financial strain for their basic, everyday needs.
Katie and Tim are two of THE MOST GENEROUS PEOPLE WE KNOW! They are always there to help everyone around them. We've known them to pay someone's power bill so their electricity wouldn't be turn off. We've known them to offer their home during other's time of need. If there is a way they can help - they do. ALWAYS.
Though we personally don't have a lot to give - surely if we come together as a community we can pool our resources and offer some much needed financial relief. Every little bit will help.
