On December 26th @ 6:24 AM, my dad stepped out of the house for what we thought would be a normal day at work. At around 6:38 AM, my mom received a call from him, he was yelling her name over and over, and she woke everyone up in fear..Which led us to believe he was taken by ICE.
My dad had left home and picked up his friend who lives less than five minutes away at a trailer park on 3200 South. He told us he noticed a car following him but didn’t think much of it. When they exited the trailer park, the same car was waiting, and a black Tahoe pulled up behind him. They followed him across the bridge on Parkway Blvd next to Decker Lake, trapping him between both cars and stopped. They only asked him if he was the owner of the vehicle. My dad asked if they were looking for someone specific, so they opened his and his friend’s door, and pulled them out by force. My dad grabbed his phone and called my mom, yelling her name, and they slapped the phone out of his hands multiple times. They were both held on the ground and taken. His truck was left abandoned on the side of the road…and just like that, he was gone.
The only reason we even knew what was happening in that moment was because my dad was able to make that one phone call, which truly showed his bravery. If not, we wouldn’t have known anything until hours later.
We are asking for support not only for my dad, but also for my mom, my siblings, and me, as we now have to carry the weight of everything on our own. Even with my dad here, life was not always easy — but we had a roof, food, and our family together. Now, without him, everything feels uncertain and unsafe. Any help, even simply sharing our story, means the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Gracias. Que Dios los bendiga.
