On December 31, 2023 instead of bringing in the New Year, our family was rushing to safety from a four alarm fire. In the midst of trying to celebrate the end of the year our lives were completely changed. My grandma, the most loving and giving person I know, rushed out the house once she saw the blazing fire from her third floor window, along with her children, grandchildren, and pet. As we were rushing out the house we could hear the windows cracking from the fire that was blazing outside the building. By the grace of god my family made it out safely and without any injuries. This sudden tragedy however, has left my family without a home. After waiting hours for the fire to be put out, some family members attempted to enter the apartment we once called home, only to discover everything was destroyed and nothing was salvageable. All of our belongings are gone and we now have to start over. My grandma’s medications, and cousin’s medical equipment that are needed on an everyday basis, were lost as well. I pray that some of you guys have the passion in your hearts to help bless my family and keep us in your prayers during this devastating time.
