Help the Atkinson Family through this tough time. Robert Atkinson suffered a terrible motorcycle accident on Sunday August 10th. The impact brought him to the hospital immediately suffering a spinal and back injury. Robert is in a critical-medical-state where his his movement, his brain, and his breathing is at a critical state (aided by a ventilator).
In the span of a week, he had suffered a stroke, and has had complications with his heart. His care has been overseen by his wife Dena, Dena was under Robert's care, as Dena is fighting through breast cancer. Dena needs the upmost support for Robert's future. The doctors originally diagnosed that there was a chance for him to not wake up under sedation, and his physical condition changing drastically.
Robert underwent extensive care in the ICU and is not close to clearing the ICU yet. Robert fortunately woke up and was able to have faint conversations with his close ones. Although his conversations were brief, he had a smile and was able to move his wrist. It was a positive effect, as the doctors had stated that his mobility may not be the same with a great chance of (paralysis). Robert is proving the medical professionals wrong, as there been moments of him moving his body, unconsciously under sedation.
The uncertainty of the injury leaves an unclarity on Robert's well-being. Robert is fighting through, day by day, to keep composure, with the hope of being able to walk again. The doctors have diagnosed drastic change, and life-altering scenarios, but Robert will not be defeated. His grit, heart, and perseverance keep him afloat.
From a close colleague, I please ask that we help assist in any way. His health condition is critical and the result will be a drastic change for the Atkinson family. The medical concerns and costs will stagger across the way. Any dollar amount will be more than sufficed and appreciated.
Robert Atkinson was loved by the CAIS community and the love was reciprocated in every way. His family and friends can say that he will never back down from any challenge. Challenges are what makes Robert a hero, and a warrior, along the way.
