Hello,
My name is Asma Bari I’m reaching out to you from Montreal on behalf on the Ashour family.
As they try to live through the worst humanitarian crisis in recent history, they need our help. This campaign will allow them to receive funds directly so they can stay afloat amidst the impossible prices and the scarcity of food and treatment.
Here’s Ali’s message to you:
Hello, I'm Ali Ashour from Gaza City.
I've been working as a photojournalist for several years. I took many beautiful and distinctive photos of Gaza City before the war and during my time there, before traveling to Turkey for four years and then returning shortly before the war. During the war, I was injured in my left leg and was unable to work or cover the events here in my city. I lost my camera, which was everything to me.
I'm here again, despite the war. I'm standing on my feet and challenging all the difficulties I've faced over the past two years.
The photos before you are just a small portion of the photos I took of my city before the war.
I want to highlight the beauty of the city, far from the wars, fighting, and destruction.
I want to show the world that Gaza is a city that loved life.
I hope everyone who reads my story will support me so I can continue...
And the dream has more to come.
