Help the Arthurs with Cancer Treatment Costs

Greetings

For those who have not heard, my lovely bride has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

We are over the initial shock and fully focused on Michelle's treatment at this time. I (Gary) was working on a contract assignment in Florida; by God's grace, Michelle was visiting, and we were together when we received the news.

I had to quit my job to return home, in Texas, to be with Michelle as she goes through chemotherapy and other treatments. I (Gary) currently have a part-time job helping teach recovery classes at a homeless shelter in downtown Houston. This, and our savings, is allowing us to pay our regular monthly bills (e.g., food, housing, utilities, gas, insurance, etc.) for the next several months.

This GoFundMe fundraiser has been created not to help with regular monthly expenses, but to help pay for one-time, unexpected medical expenses related to Michelle's care and cancer treatment. This includes 3 hospital stays, CT/PET scans, biopsies, and other treatment expenses. This also includes expenses for a very encouraging clinical trial Michelle qualified for with UT Health. These are also expenses we have already incurred, that are our responsibility after the insurance has paid their portion.

The biggest need for Michelle personally, at this time, is pain management and energy while receiving chemo. All things considered, we are doing well and feel very loved and cared for by the small army of friends and family that God has put in our lives. At the same time, we know we were created to live in community. Thus, we are humbly making our needs known to others. We would be honored to have you join us in this journey.
