Help the Arroy family with medical expenses

Ann Arroy’s husband of 46 years, Luis Arroy was diagnosed with a rare form of interstitial lung disease after receiving the Covid vaccine and given just months to live. Given his age no one in the Metro Detroit area would consider him for transplant. That gave them no choice but to travel 2 ½ hours to Grand Rapids to endure months of testing before being placed on the transplant list.

On August 30th, 2022 they received the call that they had a lung for him and that they needed to drop everything and rush to Grand Rapids RIGHT NOW! Surgery went well and Luis was released from the hospital a little over 2 weeks after his successful transplant to start his 4 week stay at the Renucci House.

On September 19, 2022 Ann had to rush Luis back to the emergency room and found that he was in congestive heart failure. Thankfully, he was given a medication and started to feel better.

On the morning of September 28th, 2022 Luis was up walking around without the use of Oxygen before he would undergo a bronchoscopy later that morning. Unfortunately, the bronchoscopy did not go as planned when the doctor punctured his brand new lung and was then rushed into emergency surgery.

Shortly after, they found out that his body was trying to reject the new lung so more medication was needed to try and reverse the rejection.

On October 6th, he had surgery to receive a larger chest tube and was back in the hospital.

It has been one thing after another for them. Ann and Luis have not been home since August 30th and desperately want to come home to heal, see their fur babies, their children and grandchildren, their friends and return to work. We are so hopeful that Luis will be released soon!

I’ve personally known Ann and Luis since 2009 and Ann has worked in the office for SysTemp Corporation for the past 21 years.
Ann is the most selfless person that I know. She goes above and beyond helping others while never expecting anything in return.

Now it is our time to help her! Multiple people have asked how they can help and I know Ann would never ask for help but I know that financially this cannot be easy on them. We want to do everything we can to help alleviate the financial burden on them so they can focus on Luis’ health and they can come home! We miss them!!
