Help the Araujo's battle cancer

Hello, sadly we have created this page to help our friend and co-worker Ken Araujo. I personally have known Ken since we became co-workers in 2010 and have known him to be a humorous, compassionate and caring friend.

 

Ken married his wife Kristy in 2018 and together they now have two beautiful children aged two and six months.

 

In May of 2022, Ken sought medical attention for extreme headaches and was immediately diagnosed with a very large brain tumor. The doctors in Hamilton moved quickly to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the brain tumor, Ken will never be able to be cancer-free. A plan is now in place with Oncology, Radiology and Chemotherapy doctors and they are hoping they can prolong Ken’s life by at least three to five years with treatment. Unfortunately, that is why we have created this fundraiser. It would help tremendously if you could find some way to donate to lessen the

financial burden on Ken’s family.

 

Ken will be required to travel approximately 1 hour each way to receive his treatment in Hamilton and it will take place five days a week for the next seven weeks. Your generosity will help immensely by putting Ken and Kristy’s minds at ease trying to cover child-care expenses, fuel and parking and other over-all bills.

 

As a parent and a person who has lost family members to this terrible disease, I know that

fear and this disease go together. Not the fear of cancer, but the fear of losing a spouse or loved one. The fear of having to explain to a child what is going on with their loved one and why they no longer have the strength or energy to spend with them like they once did. The fear of having to one day explain to a child why their parent is no longer around.
