Hi, my name is Katey Carter and I've come to ask for community help for my friend and Argyle neighbor, Cristina "Cris" Andrango and her family.
Cris told me once "when it rains, it pours" and I'm here now to let you all know how true those words can be.
On Dec 9th, after noticing her son, who is in kindergarten, with a small limp as he walked off the bus from school, Eliseo told his mom that he had fallen while playing.
Cris took Eliseo to an Urgent Care that day to find out why his leg was swollen and hurting. Urgent Care said there was nothing to be concerned about with little Eliseo's foot/ leg and sent them home.
At 2am Dec 10th, her sweet boy woke up screaming in pain and having constant body movements, like a seizure. *(I'm translating as well as possible through text messages with a exhausted and worried mother, so I'm sorry if the days/descriptions may be slightly off.)*
Cris' husband, Vincent, rushed their youngest child to Children's Dallas where he went straight into ICU.
Through days of tests and an MRI; the doctors found that upon "falling", Eliseo apparently had hit his head and had a brain bleed.
Eliseo was moved to a different floor a little over a week later and has been working so hard on therapy so he can get back to school. He really misses his friends, teacher, his puppy and going to school. He misses the normalcy.
During this process, while we were all celebrating the holidays, the Andrango family has been at the hospital, day and night, beside their baby all while trying to keep things as normal as possible for their 4th grade daughter, Emma, and keep their small family business up and running.
Somebody stole Vincent's spare tire from his work truck at their house and on Christmas Day, Cristina's vehicle was hit (and run) in the hospital parking lot. Thankfully, there was a witness who got the license plate of the vehicle that hit hers!
Vincent hasn't worked as much as usual due to the circumstances of having a child in the hospital. He owns a small HVAC business that Cris runs the office of.
Please consider helping this dear family. Show them what community can do, how we help one another in times of need. They truly could use some help to offset household bills, hospital bills and just emergencies that may pop up...If you cannot help monetarily, please keep them lifted in prayer.
Eliseo is supposed to be released from the hospital in Dallas on Jan 4th, 2023.
Thank you all for considering donating and praying for this wonderful family! I know it's said all of the time, but honestly; anything will help!
