[Statement from the Fundraiser organizers:
This fundraiser is being managed by the Maine Chapter of the National Ice Hockey Officials Association, a 501 (c) (3) organization with principal base of business located in So. Portland Maine. Scott Anctil is a long-time member of Maine NIHOA as well as USA Hockey as an Official, Coach and Player. The funds raised will be used for improvements to the Anctil family home and for the benefit of Scott’s care.]
Scott Anctil, a well-known hockey official, coach, player, and long-time member of the Lewiston/Auburn sports community needs our help. Three years ago, Scott was diagnosed with FTD (Frontotemporal Dementia) which has gradually robbed him of his ability to participate in the many daily activities we all take for granted. The disease has also severely limited his participation in coaching hockey for kids in the community as well as refereeing with his peers.
As Scott continues to courageously battle this debilitating disease, we are asking the greater hockey community to rally and support Scott by providing some much-needed financial relief. Scott has been there for so many others over the years and now we are hoping you will consider doing the same for him and his family.
