Dear friends and family,The Alvarado family needs our help. As a result of the pandemic, Felix, a father of four, lost his job. His youngest son Fernando (seated, wearing a red shirt) was recently hospitalized due to a kidney condition. Medical bills have caused the family to fall into debt, and they are currently unable to pay their rent of $200 a month. If they are evicted, they will have to move to a remote village to live with extended family, and their four children (Joel, Demis, Fernando and Nara Galilea) will be uprooted from their neighborhood and community. Unfortunately, the health care system and schools in a small Guatemalan village may not serve the family's needs.
This is a very special family that we have come to know and love when visiting Samuel's neighborhood in Guatemala. Our kids always look forward to playing soccer and socializing with these friendly, welcoming neighbors. This summer, we met Nara Galilea, the newest member of the family and her mom Irma's pride and joy.
Our goal is to help the family cover rent and medical costs so that they can remain in the neighborhood.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
The Estrada family
