Help The Algarin Family
UPDATE: wow... so many people have given & Iam in awe of how much people can come together. I raised the goal of the amount because I have no clue how much their medical bills will be; alas, EVERY penny is helping tremendously
Hi, my name is Rebecca Koon.
I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law, and my 2 month old nephew, Finley Clark Algarin.
Finley was brought to the pediatrician after concerns with changes in his stool, on top of being unable to keep anything down. The doctor instructed for them to go to the hospital immediately to get Finley examined and admitted for testing. This was Thursday, April 22nd.
The doctors believe it is something in regard to his GI Tract; either an allergen or a virus of some sort. His fever began to spike and so they continued to keep him in the hospital and monitor him.
X-rays, ultrasounds, and waiting on results from stool cultures have proved zero results. The doctors decided to have him transferred Monday evening, April 26th to Roanoke Hospital where there is a GI specialist in pediatrics, hoping for some answers.
Tuesday April 27th, Finley is still unable to contain enough nutrients so the doctors have decided to insert a feeding tube to help him gain nutrients and strength to fight whatever it is going on inside.
Sarah and Daniel Algarin (mom and dad) are
one of the best parents I know and extremely resourceful and independent. I do not want them to have to worry about finances in this time of uncertainty. Having to drive back and forth from Lynchburg to Roanoke, purchase fast food, and seeing a specialist is stressful on top of not knowing what is going on with their sweet two month old little boy.
Any sort of help would be appreciated at this time. Please pray, send good vibes, encouragement, and send your love.
