Hi, my name is Miriam and I’m a friend of Hassan Al-Bash. I am fundraising on behalf of his family, who are living in Gaza amidst the conflict. First off, I want to say thank you for taking the time to read their story.

The Al-Bash family is from Nuseirat, but are currently displaced in Khan Yunis. They are in a very difficult financial situation and would appreciate any support in escaping the conflict. Their children suffer from ailments due to the lack of safe water, sanitation, and overcrowded conditions.

Despite this, they have been steadfast - it amazes me to see how Hassan always thanks God. His family are so grateful for your continued care.

Update: You may have heard that food prices have skyrocketed recently due to shortages, with a bag of flour now costing $120 or more. For the population of Gaza, whose livelihoods and homes have been destroyed, this is obviously an impossible sum, and for Hassan’s family, this is no different. They have been able to buy food and a tent thanks to your generous support, and continue to save whatever possible in hopes of crossing the border once the target is met.

The Al-Bash family in Gaza consists of: Ramzi Al-Bash, Kholoud Al-Bash, Remas Al-Bash, Hassan Al-Bash, Rama Al-Bash and Ahmed Al-Bash.

Breakdown of costs is as follows:

£5,000 per person to evacuate to the safe corridor (totalling £30,000).

£20,000 for food, drink and supplies in Egypt.

£10,000 for accommodation abroad.

Total Sum: £60,000.
