Help the Ailors go to Israel

Dear Family Friends of Pepper & Jordanna
As we approach the end of our fourth year living and serving in Costa Rica, we have been prayerfully considering a trip to Israel with our church family here at Horizon Church. The Pastor and his wife, Daniel and Sarah Barrett have become dear friends and partners in ministry with us. They are leading a trip of several dozen church members to the land where Jesus walked. We never dreamed we would be able to go, and still are praying for provision as this would involve quite a bit of airfare for us in order to fly our children to The States prior to the trip to stay with grandparents.
As mission workers for NOW Costa Rica, hosting teams, teaching teens and families, we believe this trip could really provide us with an enriched level of knowledge, strength and inspiration to carry on the good work in the mission field. We know traveling with our church family here will also be a great way to strengthen our networks and bonds with the body of Christ on the ground here. 2023 has proven to be a big year of change for the Ailors and NOW Costa Rica as we have made the commitment to buy land, paid off the land and are embarking upon building our first ever permanent home for our family. This land will also be the base for future ministry for teens and families in Herradura, teaching them in our educational center about God’s love and the benefits of seeking dignified work. In a place where undignified work, sex trafficking and drugs are all so prevalent and permissible, our call to serve here is a privilege but also takes great spiritual backing. We believe this experience will truly strengthen our impact here.
Pepper’s work with Freedom Alliance has also shown itself to be quite a spiritual transformation. Helping combat Veterans re-enter civilian life post war has proven to be quite a task that of course, naturally involves mind, body and spirit. Pepper has been able to host a team of vets annually that come to serve as a mission team each November, using the gospel to reach the lost through building projects, home repairs and outreach. A new project that has also become an annual event for Pepper is an outreach in Mexico with The World Villages for Children, an organization that runs several orphanages around the globe. We believe this trip to Israel will only heighten the impact that Pepper can bring to his November mission team here in Costa Rica, his October team he leads in Mexico and of course all of his work and impact with the troops throughout the year. Often Pepper connects with veterans on his weekly zoom calls about their faith as well as through his monthly Offshore Experience weeks he now has once a month during high season. Conversations about God’s love come up often and Pepper is becoming more and more equipped to guide and direct the veterans spiritually, for the healing it can bring for them is like none other.
River and Windsor are now 5 and 8 years old, while not quite old enough to travel to Israel, they truly miss their grandparents and having extended time in Virginia. Both would get to spend Thanksgiving and the days leading up to Christmas with loved ones and maybe even see snow! They both are growing up to be strong, mission minded, bilingual servants of the Lord, but being missionary kids and living far from their home country at times can be emotionally hard. By supporting this effort to sponsor Pepper and Jordanna to travel through Israel, you would also be supporting their children’s emotional well-being, health and connection with their family. We know this type of support can only help sustain the longevity out in the field as the Ailors face another decade or more living and serving in Costa Rica. Thanks for mobilizing the long term vision we have.
We appreciate your prayerful consideration as we ask for this support. We cannot offer a tax-deductible option for your donation at this time but will gladly welcome checks payable to Samuel Ailor and mailed to 122 Marsh St. Tappahannock, VA 22560. Donations of any amount will be helpful. We are praying that you and your family are doing well, that perhaps in the season to come, you may be able to visit us, stay with us in our new home or serve alongside us in ministry. God is doing a great thing and we welcome your prayer, commitment and support.
Sincerely,
Pepper, Jordanna, River & Windsor
