I am raising funds to help Silvia Aguilar and her family catch up on nearly $4,000 in house payments so they won't lose their home in Tulsa due to foreclosure. I would also like to raise an additional $5,000 to help them pay off additional debts they accumulated following a tragic illness.
Silvia and her husband Jorge were both working hard to provide for their family and had a comfortable life until Jorge developed a brain tumor four years ago. His illness led Jorge to have a massive stroke. He is now unable to walk and requires long-term skilled nursing care.
Silvia works as a mechanic at the International Bus Company in Tulsa. She has a son in college and a 14-year-old daughter she is supporting. When she is not working, she visits her husband in his nursing home.
The family has faced tremendous hardship in recent years, including the death of a child, and needs the support of the community - including the love of caring strangers - to carry them through and especially to help them stay in their home. Please join me in helping the Aguilar family get caught up on their bills and have a fresh start as they care for each other during a difficult time.
