Help the Aguilar Family and their goldendoodle, Archie
Donation protected
One of our wonderful neighbors is in need of help and I am hoping as a community we can come together to help. It’s an urgent request. Many of you might have read about Michael Aguilar fight with cancer. Mike is finally coming home! But, with this amazing news comes additional challenges. The family has a very rambunctious golden doodle that is now showing signs of aggression. I am almost certain that it’s because Mike is his person and he can sense something is wrong. Because of Archie’s size and strength, it’s not safe to have him in the home with Mike. Mike could easily break a bone with a dog jumping on him. Also given the recent aggression that Archie has been showing, we all think a board and train situation would be beneficial. I created this go fund me to see if we can come together as a community to help both this amazing pup, but also this family. They do not want to surrender him to a shelter I fear of what could happen. He just needs some help and stability. It’s been a rough few months for both human and animal in the Aguilar family. If you can help in anyway to help fund the board and train, it would be so appreciated!
See this post from Heather Aguilar. If you can direct or help in anyway.
“The AMAZINGnews it looks like Mike might finally come home from the hospital tomorrow !! we are so happy. We are overwhelmed with excitement, but it also requires a lot of logistical planning and changes.
Our Goldendoodle Archie is a bit of a handful he is such a sweet, good boy however, if dogs can have ADHD, he does, like most golden doodles! He jumps all over people which for Mike would be catastrophic
The good news is our oldest son is househunting and plans to take Archie however the house he put an offer in on did not pass inspection so they are starting over from scratch, this is likely a few months out….& we need a solution by tomorrow
Therefore, I am looking for a temporary foster situation for Archie for the next couple of months .
I honestly don’t know how he would do in a house with other dogs and I don’t think he would do good in a house with small children. He is fully housebroken and crate trained and is such a lovable boy, but will jump all over you, he pulls a lot on the leash, and when someone runs, it makes him very anxious and sometimes trigger some bad behavior. (I want to be fully transparent about his behavior ) But he truly is Such a good boy he just requires some special circumstances
If you know of someone or any resources that may be able to help us, I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions .”
I would help if I could, however I already have 3 dogs. Hoping this amazing community can provide guidance or help for this family that has already had an extremely rough few months. Thank you!
