Hi, my name is Hazen Sage, I live on Vancouver Island and I've started this GoFundMe to raise flood relief funds for my very best friends who are also my closest family! As I'm sure most are aware by now of the catastrophic floods that have hit Southern BC, washing out all our main highways infrastructure and severing the lower mainland from the rest of Canada. Sumas Prairie is the heart of BC agricultural farm land and community serving the province with 50% of all agricultural needs and demands.

 

The farm on Dixon road, Abbotsford was over taken by high flood waters at short notice. There was only a short time to gather what they could before they left their family farm that's been in the family for 3 generations. The original farm house on property is also currently occupied by a lovely family of 5 who rents it and are now also homeless!

 

There is NO Flood or Farm Insurance for anyone on Sumas Prairie! The amount of damage costs from high waters that have occurred will far outweigh government relief that they may be provided and or eligible for. They are now wondering how life will look moving forward with this new strain with all the added costs of accommodations and renovations to both houses, both barns and outlying property should they be deemed salvageable. All donations will be applied to the Reno's of the farm.

 

Marcel, his lovely wife Shannon and their young son Mason look forward to a time when they can start to see daylight at the end of this seemingly dark tunnel. Any donations are extremely appreciated and very much grateful for!
