Please help the Abrams Family

Hi, I'm Gina. I, friends and co-workers are fundraising for the Abrams family.
Johnathon Abrams is an 11 yr old that's currently hospitalized at Driscoll Children's Hospital in the pediatric ICU on a ventilator. Johnathon was diagnosed with MIS-C (Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children). He's in critical condition, fighting for his life. The doctors have said that it will be a long road ahead of them.
Johnathan's mom, Katie, is our friend and co-worker at the VA. She's an exceptional nurse and an incredibly caring, kind human being. So, it is no surprise that Katie has not left Jonathan's side for one minute and has put her work on hold. Jonathan has three other siblings that his dad has been looking after at home. Their income has been reduced by half and bills are starting to pile up. This fundraiser was started to help alleviate their financial worries so that they can solely concentrate on Johnathon. The funds will help pay for bills and groceries. Please donate whatever you can. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
When we asked Katie if we could start this fundraiser, she was overwhelmed with emotion and expressed so much appreciation for all the love, prayers and support. Katie wanted people to know the story of Johnathon's illness so that other parents can be aware of early s/s of MIS-C and hopefully, no other parent/child would have to go through this.
Johnathon came home from school on Thursday, 10/7/21, and was complaining of a headache. He had a fever and was given ibuprofen. The next day, his temperature kept fluctuating and he developed diarrhea. His at-home Covid test was negative. We monitored and treated him with over-the-counter medications for his symptoms. Over the weekend, he was still complaining of a headache, had intermittent high fevers, and he began vomiting. We took him to the ER where they did blood work, chest x-ray, flu test, covid test, and strep throat test. He received antibiotics and fluids because he was dehydrated. The ER said that the covid and strep test were negative. He tested positive for Flu A. ER instructed us to continue Tylenol and said that the Flu needed to run it's course. We were sent home and recommended that he should be off school for two days. Jonathon continued to get weaker. The high fevers, diarrhea and headaches persisted. By Wednesday morning, he developed a rash on his back, palms of hands, feet, legs and he started to have trouble breathing. His oxygen level was 88% and he was taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital. As soon as we arrived, he was given fluids, blood work drawn, chest x-ray, CT scan of his abdomen and was admitted to PICU. He was negative for Covid and his flu test was negative, as well. They tested his antibodies for covid and he was positive. So, at some point he had Covid, but was not symptomatic. His condition continued to decline and by that evening, doctors decided to intubate him so that his body could rest. That night, his temperature spiked to 108.6. They packed him with ice and cooling blankets to try to bring down his temp. He started having kidney and heart issues. At one point there were nine IV medications running at one time. Thursday morning, the ventilator was not enough so they added a Nitric oxide machine to help him breathe. Every time he was repositioned, his oxygen level would drop. Johnathon remains intubated and heavily sedated because the doctors do not want him to move at all. Being a mother and having to sit back and watch my baby go through all of this is the worst thing I could ever imagine. It is like being in a nightmare and hoping to wake up. We hope that Johnathon recovers quickly and there is no damage to his organs once he recovers. I kindly ask everyone to please pray for my baby boy. Thank you.
