First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for all the support and assistance you have provided to us so far. We truly appreciate your kindness and efforts during this very difficult time.

Unfortunately, we are still staying in temporary accommodation and have not yet been able to secure stable housing. Despite our continued efforts to find a permanent place, we have not been successful so far.

I would also like to inform you that my wife and my son are still under medical treatment and care. Because of their condition, our situation is even more sensitive and challenging. Having stable housing is extremely important for their recovery and emotional well-being.

My name is Ali Abdullahi, and I am reaching out to our community during the most difficult moment of our lives.

On January 20, 2026, our lives changed forever when a 2-alarm fire swept through our apartment building in Sunnyvale. In a matter of minutes, we lost everything we owned—our clothes, our furniture, our personal belongings, and the place we called home.

The Current Situation While we are grateful to be alive, our family is currently facing a long road to recovery. My wife and our toddler are currently hospitalized receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fire. My two older children, who are in 2nd and 7th grade, are safe but are struggling to process the loss of their home and the worry for their mother and youngest sibling.

How Your Support Helps As I stand by my family in the hospital, I am also trying to figure out how to provide a sense of normalcy and safety for my children. We are starting from zero. Your donations will go directly toward:
