Help the Abashe Family Overcome Hardship
Donation protected
Benjamin Abashe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in July of 2022.
Ben is now 9 years old and because of his compromised immune system is currently completing third grade online through Montgomery County's Virtual Academy.
It has been a difficult time for the Abashe family (of 6). They are asylum seekers as the armed conflict in Nigeria forced them to flee their home nine years ago. They have been working hard at making a life for themselves and their kids in the states.
With Ben's diagnosis, his mother Naomi, is unable to dedicate herself to stable employment. Ben's father works assembling furniture for Wayfair customers. They have a deep faith which they hold tightly and are wonderful people who have fallen on challenging times. Paying for rent and groceries are monthly uncertainties. To make matters worse, while taking Ben to Children's National Hospital for in-vitro antibiotics (due to a blood infection) they were involved in an accident and their family car was totaled.
Ben's rigorous chemotherapy schedule and resulting compromised immune system causes the family to isolate to survive. Through these times, they often feel quite alone. It is a dark time when a family needs the love and support of their community most of all.
Please help the Abashe family through this difficult time. They could use help with rent, groceries and transportation. Any donation helps. Prayers are welcome and encouraged. Let's surround this beautiful family with love.
