Hi, I'm Kim Strobel, and I'm helping raise money for Olivia, who recently rescued six golden retriever puppies and four adult goldens from a terribly neglectful breeder.
Olivia is 18 years old and has used $1450.00 of her own money to take all of these dogs to the vet and get them the help they need. She also housed all ten dogs!
The breeder kept these dogs in complete isolation, and they've never had human contact. Three of the four adults are very nervous, and all puppies and adult dogs were full of ticks and fleas, badly matted, and never had shots. Unfortunately, one of the adults, Duke, the only one who isn't nervous, has heartworms.
All the dogs had to be vet treated, given shots, taken to a groomer, and placed on medicine, and she got some of them spayed and neutered. She placed the six puppies in wonderful homes, and two adult goldens have been placed in good homes. (Willow and Duke are still looking for their forever homes, and if we can get Duke's treatment paid for then I believe he will have a chance of finding a loving home, too).
I had no idea Olivia had done all of this with her own money and that it amounted to $1450.00...until I asked. She had never asked for any money.
The one golden Duke with heartworms will begin treatment for them, and this will cost an additional $1000-$1200.00 to make the total $2650.00.
I would like to try to help Olivia recover some of the costs of the treatments she has provided for all of these dogs and puppies. To think an 18-year-old stepped up to the plate, rescued the puppies, and then went back to get the parents is nothing but heroic. Maybe with this money, we can pay her back for her efforts.
