Help the 20th Floor Residents of 429 East 52nd St

Donation protected
On the morning of Saturday, November 5th 2022, a four-alarm fire erupted in the Rivercourt Apartment Building (429 East 52nd Street), leaving more than 40 people injured, with some in serious and critical condition.

The fire, which began on the 20th floor of the building, was caused by a lithium-ion battery. Two people were rescued directly from the apartment where the fire originated via an incredibly risky rope operation to free one woman who had gotten stuck on the child-proof gate on the building’s window. We are very thankful to the FDNY and their acts of bravery.

The 20th floor is now completely unlivable, leaving all floor tenants displaced without choice - with many if not all of their personal valuables destroyed.

Now is the time to help our neighbors in need, especially as we approach the holidays, and surround them with endless support. They money we raise will go directly to our neighbors on the 20th floor, to help them rebuild after this tragic event.

We are already in contact with the residents of the 20th floor, and we will be distributing the funds across them for them to spend in whatever way is best for them.
