I'm not sure if anyone remembers but a few months back I started a GoFundMe to raise money for a great Laotian kid I know named Tham, to get a scooter for him to get to school and back. Now, his mom drastically needs our help. Ever since the night that his family brought me to the hospital after my freak bike accident, I have kept in touch with them. They often send me family pictures of birthdays and weddings and we try to FaceTime as much as possible (even though neither of us speaks each other's language).

Although it's usually all good news, a few days ago Tham's dad sent me a message from the hospital saying that Tham's mom was in really bad shape. After selling almost everything they had (except for Tham's scooter) and by borrowing money from friends and family they were able to pay for an examination by a Vietnamese doctor (given that the health care in Laos isn't always the best, as the nerve damage in my foot can attest to).

Unfortunately, the results were not good and it seems like Tham's mom is going to need surgery to fix what may be life-threatening damage to her bladder and intestine. The only other option they have is to sell their little farm, which would leave them with nothing.

As I said in the last post, I hate asking for money, but if it means helping save this incredible woman, who is a loving wife and mother of two beautiful children, then I'll do what I can. Even if you can't donate, at the very least please share. I am doing what I can myself but have pretty limited financial resources at the moment so this is why I'm asking all of you guys. The surgery is estimated to cost between $2,500 and $3,000 (or 35-40 million Kip *Laos's currency*) which compared to European and USA standards is relatively inexpensive. Even if we don't reach the full amount, I know that Tham's family would be eternally grateful to receive any help at all.
