I volunteer with a mission in the central Philippines and travel there every year. My family sponsors a family of 6 and co-sponsors another family there. I am an EMT in New York with our volunteer Fire Deparment. I met Thalia in our clinic there and she was suffering from Severe Asthma as I did at that age. I know it is hard to smile when you can't breathe.
She lives in a very poor community and her mother, who volunteers with our mission, is a single mother, trying to raise 2 girls on $22 a month.
I want to help Thalia smile again. Her family needs electricity, a fan to move the hot air around and a small refrigerator for the goat's milk she has to drink- (allergy to cow's milk- so powdered milk won't work).
Electricity would also allow her mother to borrow a nebulizer machine for her asthma treatments.
When I told her mother I would try to help her smile, her mother called me her Guardian Angel. I told Thalia I would try to find many other Guardian Angels here.
