Help Thalia Start Her Post-Grad Journey in LA

Hey y'all! I'm Thalia Menchaca, a senior at the University of Texas at Austin studying journalism with a minor in Latino media arts and studies. I'm graduating in the fall and will participate in the UTLA Program for Spring 2024. This program allows UT students to spend a semester in Los Angeles to jump-start their career in the entertainment industry through classes and internships.

While I have enough money to pay the non-refundable deposit fee ($1,000) and the program fee ($3,900), I need extra help with tuition, housing, and transportation costs in LA.

Tuition for 12 hours of classes is around $5,615. Housing in LA varies depending on housing options (e.g., student housing, furnished apartments, Airbnb) but totals around $4,000 - $5,000. Transportation also varies per person (e.g., car, rideshare, public transit) and totals around $1,260. All funds from this GoFundMe will go towards tuition, housing, and transportation costs in LA. I will also share leftover funds with other students in the spring cohort.
