Thaddeus was born with Spina Bifida; he has very little basic mobility and almost no feeling in his legs and feet. At 18 months old, he still cannot stand on his own feet without support. He has no control of his urinary/bowel functions either.
Most of his treating physicians here are pessimistic about his future, and it is a frequent battle with local clinics to get the supplies and care he needs as we try to teach him how to crawl, stand and (Lord willing) eventually walk.
Beike Biotech in Thailand offers a comprehensive Stem Cell treatment plan specifically engineered towards Spina Bifida patients. This program involves introducing new "blank" cells into the body, and undergoing many different therapies such as physiotherapy, magnetic cranial stimulation and acupuncture in order to get those new cells to work in the damaged areas (in this case, the nerves and muscles from the waist down).
After much prayer and consideration, we are going to attempt to take Thaddeus to Bangkok to undergo this treatment. We hope that he can get new feeling in his legs, and control of his muscles in order that he could learn to stand and walk well, improving his quality of daily life immensely.
The admission date scheduled for his treatment is October 18, 2025, and we will need to pay for it entirely by September 17.
The goal of our fund is just short of the total cost of the program, not including airfare. We have put all of this in the Lord's good hands, and are grateful for any assistance in getting Tad to this treatment.
