On Wednesday afternoon, I was in a near-fatal car accident that changed my life in an instant. My car flipped, rolled, and burned, leaving me with a compound fracture in my ankle and a burst fracture in my vertebrae. The injuries affected my spinal fluid and nerve tissue, and I’ve spent the last eight days in the trauma ward, facing surgery and a long road to recovery. Right now, the bottom half of my body is completely numb, and I’m unable to walk or use the restroom without assistance. Just recently, I’ve started using a walker to hop to the bathroom, but I still rely on devices to help with basic needs. My spinal cord injury is considered a T10 Asia D, which means there’s hope that I may regain full strength and walk again. I’m preparing to be discharged in the next few days, but I know the challenges will continue once I’m home.

As the main provider for my family, this sudden turn has left us facing not only emotional challenges but also significant financial ones. Our apartment is at the top of steep stairs, making it impossible for me to recover there safely. We’re looking at a lot of changes to make sure I can heal and regain my strength. The funds raised will go directly toward my medical bills, rehabilitation, and living expenses while I’m unable to work. I’ll also need to make my home more accessible for recovery and replace my totaled car so I can regain independence when I’m ready. Recovery is expected to take four to six months, and I’m confident that with faith and determination, I’ll be back on my feet and return to my regular daily activities soon.
