Hello, this is Keoni and Kanoe Ana - The brother and sister of Tessie. We are writing this on behalf of our family. In our family there are our parents, Keith and Healani Ana, our eldest sister Tessie, our older sister Shayna, and the two of us. We are from Ele’ele, Kaua’i.

We are asking for donations to help my eldest sister Tessie. She is a such a light in our household, and always knew how to cheer you up. Whenever you saw her, she was happy and always had a big smile on her face. You would always find her dancing and singing. She’s everyone’s “dancing queen”.

On July 14th, her 35th birthday, she wasn’t feeling well. She couldn’t get out of bed and was throwing up. Our mom called us and told us she was calling an ambulance because Tessie wasn’t waking up. They went to Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital, and they put her on meds because they said she was having strokes. They did a scan and saw a blockage in her brain. So from there they were transferred to Wilcox Hospital where they did more scans, and this is where they found a tumor in her brain. They got medivaced to Oahu the next day where they could drain the fluids to relieve the pressure on her brain. The doctor’s said the tumor was already too big for them to perform surgery because it already took up too much space in her brain. According to the doctors, surgery to remove the tumor would cause too much damage for Tessie to make it out alive. This was a big shock, no one saw this coming. My family and I dropped everything we had going on, and flew to Oahu to be with my sister. Since then, we’ve been here on Oahu for almost two weeks now, staying by Tessie’s side in the hospital.

Tessie hasn’t woken up since our Mom called the ambulance back on Kaua’i, and the doctors say that she has no brain activity. She is currently off any machines, only medicine for pain, and has been like this for about a week. We believe Tessie has been fighting for this long because she wants to be on Kaua’i - where her home is, and where her family is.

So we are seeking donations to help pay to have her medivaced back to Kaua’i where she can have hospice care in our home. We would also use the money to help cover all other medical expenses.
