Hi, my name is Val from Bradford Keighley & Skipton Disability Athletics, and I’m launching this fundraiser to support an incredibly inspiring young athlete — Tessa Lightowler— who will be the ONLY person from the UK competing in the World Down’s Games in Prague this June!

This is more than just a sporting event. For Tessa, it’s a moment of pride, and a chance to represent her country and community on the world stage.

Who is Tessa?

Tessa is a vibrant, determined, and passionate athlete with Down's syndrome who has spent years training, pushing boundaries, and exceeding expectations. Her commitment to her event and her infectious enthusiasm make her a role model for many — and now she has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete internationally.

What Are the World Down’s Games?

The World Down’s Games is a prestigious international event bringing together athletes with Down’s syndrome from across the globe. It’s a celebration of talent, determination, and inclusion — and Tessa is proudly stepping up to represent the UK.

Being the only UK representative makes this both an honour and a challenge — and that’s where we need your help.

Why We Need Your Support

To make this journey happen, we need to raise £3,000 to cover:

• Flights and travel expenses to and from Prague

• Accommodation during the games

• Entry fees and registration

• Training support and equipment

• Meals, local transport, and essentials
