Hello- My name is Tess Palma-Martinez. I am fundraising to help replace my Crystal Tones Alchemy singing bowls. On Saturday, 1/28/23, I went to Joshua Tree to facilitate a soundbath for a wellness retreat. While in the desert, 2 of my 3 singing bowls were shattered when a gust of wind knocked over my gong.

To anyone in the sound healing world, or who has received a soundbath- you know how incredible these bowls are. They felt like an extension of my body and my soul. They are a tool through which I am of service to my community. My heart has broken and the sound of them breaking continues to reverberate through my mind.

I am starting this because so many people suggested I create a GoFundMe to help raise the money to replace the bowls. Each Crystal Tones Alchemy singing bowl is about $2,000. I am hoping to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of the two bowls I lost. Any donation is so incredibly helpful. I currently live paycheck to paycheck, while I am steadily building my business. I have had more and more opportunities recently that have ushered my work to a new level, and I intend to continue this growth. I had plans to begin saving to add more bowls, ultimately building a full set of 7, but with this loss, I am starting over.

I am a Sound Healer. This is my profession, and without them, I can not work. The bowls I lost brought me to this path of healing. They helped heal my own body, and ultimately brought relief, healing and joy to so many people. Before I buried them in the sand, I held every single piece and gave gratitude while I cried- remembering the many beautiful moments, and thanking them for everything they have done.

A part of me is struggling with asking for help. I often pride myself on the idea that I can do it alone, or that if I need help from others it means I am weak. I'm also very aware of the deeper tragedies for which people turn to fundraising, but have been reassured by so many that these bowls and my work are also valuable. This, in of itself, is a lesson in receiving. The loss as a whole is a lesson in trust and surrender.
