Help Tess get to Mount Holyoke College
I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to Tess, a high school senior from Meriden Connecticut. Tess was accepted to MHC’s class of 2025, but her financial aid package is not sufficient to cover her tuition and expenses even with loans and work study. She is roughly $18,000 short of what she needs in order to matriculate. I hope that with your help, we can get her there so she can join the class of 2025.
Tess’s guidance counselor is a childhood friend of mine from Waterbury Connecticut. She contacted me to tell me about this amazing student and find out whether I was aware of any MHC scholarships that might be available to her. After much investigation, I have confirmed that there are, unfortunately, no other additional scholarships other than her financial aid package.
Tess is an honor student, artist, musician and activist. She is queer and very involved in her school’s small LGBQT community. I had the opportunity to meet with Tess and now understand why my friend thinks she is so special.
MHC had a profound impact on me. It opened my world and introduced me to incredible women who I can always turn to for help, guidance and support. I would love to give Tess this life changing opportunity and hope that you will join me in contributing what you can to help make this happen.
If you are considering donating, please do so by April 30th, as Tess must accept her offer by May 1st and cannot do so unless she knows she has the resources. I am working on creating a more formal structure to continue supporting her for the next four years, but this first step to get here there is urgent. Many thanks and feel free to contact me by phone, e-mail or Facebook messenger with any questions. Erin
